On April 12, 2025, a post-sale report from a spa center in Italy prompted our engineering team to respond swiftly, resulting in an effective solution that further improved the temperature accuracy of our ice bath chillers.

The Challenge: A Discrepancy in Temperature Readings
Back in May 2023, we custom-built an intelligent ice bath system for a well-known spa hotel chain in Italy. After nearly two years of use, their staff observed that when the water temperature approached the target setting, the display reading on our chiller differed from the actual spa pool temperature by 0.3 to 0.8°C.
While the variance appeared minor, in a professional rehabilitation spa setting, even the slightest temperature deviation can affect customer experience and potentially reduce the effectiveness of recovery protocols.
As a globally recognized manufacturer of spa and cold therapy equipment, Hi-Q Group immediately prioritized this case. Our technical team arranged a video call with the hotel, remotely reviewed the system’s operation, monitored real-time data from each component via the backend, and reproduced the temperature variance scenario. The root cause was identified as the positioning and design of the temperature sensor.
Solution: Sensor Repositioning & System Upgrade for Accurate Measurement
To address the issue, our engineers replicated the original conditions, developed a new probe module, re-calibrated the software, and provided the customer with an OTA (Over-the-Air) firmware upgrade.
The client received the new sensor hardware on April 20 and successfully replaced the original unit. After remotely updating the device through the mobile app, the system ran continuously for 40 hours with zero deviation in temperature readings. The hotel team confirmed the fix and expressed their appreciation for Hi-Q Group’s fast and professional response.
Within less than a week, the upgraded design was finalized and implemented. The newly positioned sensor now provides precise real-time readings that perfectly reflect the actual water temperature, removing all user guesswork.
